Rockets Look Impressive in First Game, Win 105-96
The Beardsanity era started off with a bang. After only one game, it looks like James Harden of the Rockets could be worth every penny of the 5 year/ $80 million contract he signed just hours before he put up 37 points on 14/25 shooting, as well as 12 assists and 6 rebounds. Jeremy Lin also played well with 12 points, 8 assists, and 4 steals, but his time on the bench spoke volumes about his importance to the Rockets. The Rockets were on a 10-0 run in the 2nd half to take the lead at 65-58. The Pistons responded with a 13-0 run of their own to take the lead back to 71-65. Jeremy Lin was in foul trouble during this 13-0 run and the offense couldn't get going without him. Trailing 81-72 to start the 4th quarter, the Rockets went on a tear during Lin's return with clutch 3-pointers from Carlos Delfino and James Harden, as well as a couple of crucial dunks from Greg Smith. Carlos Delfino finished with 4 3-pointers and 15 points.
